Plurality without user defined function: Replacing by user defined function and procedural impact

There is no doubt that creating functions name and vote improves the coding on all aspects, be it from the angle of coder who seems to be more organized to user who will benefit from better understanding as well. Reusability is another aspect.

Still I thought to try without creating functions just for practice.
